España, entre los países que lideran la inversión extranjera en Chile

Las autoridades chilenas del Comité de Inversiones Extranjeras han dado a conocer la cifra en inversión solicitada por empresas extranjeras en Chile a través del D.L. 600, entre enero y octubre de 2012, esta acumula un total de US$ 16.764 millones de dólares, corresponde a un 21,6% más que el total aprobado por la institución durante 2011, año en que se había registrado el récord histórico de solicitudes con un monto de US$13.790 millones.

La inversión de empresas españolas en este período registró los US$2.170 millones (12,9%), convirtiéndose en el tercer país tras Canadá y Japón y por delante de Estados Unidos y Reino Unido.

El destino que concentra el mayor volumen de inversiones aprobadas en lo que va del año es Minería, con US$9.497 millones, equivalentes a un 56,7% del total, seguido por Servicios con US$3.093 millones (18,5% del total), Transporte y comunicaciones con US$1.672 millones, (10,0% del total), y luego Electricidad, gas y agua con US$1.604 millones (9,6%), Industria con US$797 millones, (4,8%), Silvicultura, con US$90 millones (0,5%) y Construcción con US$10,5 millones (0,1%).

España es el décimo inversor mundial, con un stock de inversión directa en el exterior de 500.000M€ (50%del PIB). De este total, algo más de 12 mil millones de euros se encuentran invertidos en Chile, siendo el doceavo destino de la inversión española en el mundo.

Se estima en más de 1500 las empresas españolas que han optado por implantarse en suelo chileno haciéndolo su plataforma comercial para expandirse al resto del planeta. La inversión española es una de las más diversificadas, sobresale en el sector servicios, principalmente banca, seguros, energía, infraestructuras, telecomunicaciones, ingenierías, biotecnología, entre otros. Actualmente está cobrando gran importancia el sector agroindustria, el acuícola y el forestal. Formación y Recursos Humanos comienzan a destacar.

El delegado en España del Comité de Inversiones Extranjeras de Chile, Tomás Pablo, señala que “este año 2012 la presencia española ha crecido en Chile de forma exponencial”, “hemos atendido un número muy elevado de compañías –mayoritariamente pymes-, que han optado por crecer en nuestro país, todos son bienvenidos, crean empleo, transfieren tecnología y conocimientos, algo esencial para que nuestro país alcance el estatus de país desarrollado”, dijo.
