Cesce firma un acuerdo de cooperación con Iraq

Cesce ha firmado un acuerdo con el Comité de Garantías Soberanas de Iraq que persigue facilitar la cooperación entre España y el país asiático. En concreto, la firma de este acuerdo, cuyo importe asciende hasta los 1.000 millones de euros, permitirá negociar y realizar aquellos proyectos mutuamente acordados que, bajo la cobertura de Cesce, ejecuten las empresas españolas a favor del desarrollo de la industria privada iraquí.

El acuerdo refleja el compromiso entre las autoridades de ambos países por fomentar el comercio y desarrollar líneas de negocio entre sus empresas nacionales, así como facilitar el acceso al conocimiento y tecnología española para su aplicación en grandes proyectos de un amplio espectro de sectores.

En este sentido, Cesce impulsará el apoyo a la exportación de bienes de equipo, plantas industriales y líneas de producción completas en cualquiera de las industrias prioritarias para el desarrollo del sector privado en Iraq. El gobierno iraquí, a través de su Comité de Garantías, concederá garantía soberana a los créditos que se instrumenten para la financiación de estos contratos, lo que ofrecerá seguridad jurídica y económica a las transacciones, fomentando así la atracción de la inversión en aquel país.

El acuerdo fue firmado ayer en la sede de Cesce por su presidente ejecutivo, Fernando Salazar; y Mohammed Sahib Al- Darraji, asesor técnico del Primer Ministro Iraquí. En la misma estuvo también presente el embajador de la República de Iraq, Salih Husain Ali.

Mediante esta acción, España se suma a otros países que, como Japón e Italia, han firmado también un acuerdo de cooperación con Iraq para brindar mayor impulso a las relaciones económicas y comerciales entre los respectivos países y contribuir así al desarrollo del sector privado en el país asiático.
