Abengoa, premiada por Global Water Awards como compañía de agua del año

El sector del agua reconoce la labor y la contribución de Abengoa en 2014 con el premio Water Company of the Year en la ceremonia de los Global Water Awards. Abengoa ha sido galardonada con el premio Water Company of the Year durante la ceremonia de los Global Water Awards celebrada en Atenas, Grecia.

Este premio reconoce las contribuciones – en forma de proyectos, investigación, etc. – que Abengoa ha realizado en el sector del agua durante 2014. El evento reúne cada año a las mejores empresas e individuos en el sector. El comité de los galardones ha tenido en cuenta la habilidad de Abengoa para ofrecer la solución que mejor se adapte a cada cliente, así como la diversificación de sus activos más allá de la desalación. Además, el carácter único e innovador del proyecto de transmisión de agua Vista Ridge ha atraído la atención del comité. Los Global Water Awards nacen en el 2005 de la mano de la Global Water Intelligence, una de las principales autoridades en la industria del agua a nivel internacional. Estos premios son entregados por profesionales del sector del agua, incluyendo empresarios, investigadores o gestores, lo que hace que representen el reconocimiento del sector en su conjunto.

Esta no es la primera nominación que Abengoa ha recibido en el sector del agua en este tipo de galardones, ya que ha sido reconocida en varias ocasiones por su trayectoria en la industria del agua, tanto en el sector de la desalación como en el del gestor de proyectos. Así, Abengoa ha ganado dos veces el premio de Desalination Company of the Year (2009 y 2013), así como el premio Desalination Project of the Year (2007) y el de Developer of the Year (2007). Con este reconocimiento, Abengoa consolida su posición de liderazgo en el sector del agua, en el que ha realizado numerosos proyectos en multitud de geografías como Gana, España, Turquía, Marruecos o Estados Unidos.
