2.600 millones de saldo positivo en la venta al exterior de vino y mosto

Esta semana se ha celebrado la entrega de premios “Excelencia cava”. Junto al conseller de Agricultura de la Generalitat de Cataluña, Josep María Pelegrí; el Presidente del Consejo Regulador del Cava, Pedro Bonet; y la Delegada del Gobierno en Cataluña, María Llanos de Luna se encontraba el Ministro de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio ambiente, Miguel Arias Cañete.

El ministro presentó algunos datos sobre el comercio exterior de vino y mosto. El saldo de este sector en sus ventas al extranjero arrojó un resultado positivo de 2.600 millones de euros en 2012 y el porcentaje de producción que se exporta ha pasado del del 35,7% en 2006 a 52,9 en 2011.

El ministro afirmó que «el vino es un producto que está contribuyendo decisivamente a que nuestra balanza comercial agroalimentaria sea positiva, con el cava liderando la exportación de vinos con Denominación de Origen, alcanzado cerca del 30% del valor del total de vinos con DOP exportados.»

El ministro recordó que España es el primer país del mundo en superficie plantada de viñedo, con más de 950.000 hectáreas y destacó su gran relevancia social, tanto por el número de explotaciones (más de 600.000) como por las cooperativas que operan en este sector, que agrupan a 200.000 socios y elaboran más del 60% del vino y mosto.
