La UE destina 3,5 millones de euros a España para paliar los daños causados por la crisis del pepino

Un total de 3,5 millones de euros, es la cifra que la Comisión Europea destinará para cofinanciar programas de promoción de frutas y verduras españolas en los mercados europeos, en especial en Alemania, Países Bajos, Austria y Reino Unido, así como en el mercado nacional.

Esta medida tiene como objetivo paliar las pérdidas del sector como consecuencia de la llamada crisis del pepino.

En concreto, Bruselas ha aprobado dos programas españoles. El primero de ellos, dirigido por UPA, cuenta con un presupuesto de 4,2 millones de euros, de los cuales las arcas comunitarias aportarán la mitad, y tiene por objetivo el mercado español, pero también los de Alemania, país en donde arrancó la crisis de la bacteria E.coli, y el de Países Bajos.

Otro proyecto español, para recuperar la confianza de los consumidores de Alemania, Reino Unido y Austria, recibirá de la Unión Europea el 50 % de los 2,9 millones de euros que ha previsto desembolsar en un plazo de tres años.

En total, la Unión Europea destinará una cuantía total de 17 millones de euros para cofinanciar este tipo de iniciativas en once Estados miembros, para ayudar a recuperar el consumo en mercados fuertemente afectados por la crisis sanitaria y alimentaria que provocó el brote de la bacteria ‘E.coli’.
