España y Guinea Ecuatorial refuerzan sus relaciones comerciales

El secretario de Estado de Comercio Exterior, Alfredo Bonet, acompañado por la ministra de Economía, Comercio y Promoción Empresarial de Guinea Ecuatorial, Francisca Tatchoup Belope, inauguró en Malabo el Primer Encuentro Empresarial España-Guinea Ecuatorial, organizado conjuntamente por el Ministerio de Industria, Turismo y Comercio, a través del Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior (ICEX), de la Oficina Económica y Comercial de España en Malabo y de la Cámara de Comercio en dicha ciudad, y por el Ministerio de Economía, Comercio y Promoción Empresarial de Guinea Ecuatorial.

El objetivo del encuentro es reforzar la imagen de España como país con un potente y sólido entramado industrial cada vez más internacionalizado.

Los participantes del mismo podrán por un lado, consolidar la presencia de aquellas empresas establecidas en este mercado con el respaldo de las instituciones estatales; y, por otro, impulsar las actividades de las compañías que inician su proyecto internacional.

Un total de 29 empresas españolas de Canarias, Valencia, Madrid, País Vasco, Andalucía, Castilla-la Mancha y Cataluña participan en el encuentro. Los sectores y subsectores que han sido elegidos como prioritarios en este encuentro son hidrocarburos y su transformación – incluyendo industria petroquímica y química-; industria auxiliar y de materiales de construcción; educación; sanidad; hostelería; telecomunicaciones; medio ambiente y tratamiento de residuos; agricultura y agroindustria.

Alfredo Bonet hizo hincapié en que Guinea Ecuatorial es un socio fundamental para España, resaltando que en los últimos años este país se ha convertido en un socio energético estratégico, al que compramos en 2010 más de 1 millón y medio de toneladas de petróleo, por valor de unos 710 millones de euros.

Por otra parte, Guinea Ecuatorial se ha convertido en el cuarto mercado de la exportación española hacia el África Subsahariana, con 226 millones de euros de exportaciones en 2010, repartidas en todo tipo de productos, entre los que destacan los alimentos (26%), los bienes de equipo (31%), las semimanufacturas (19%) o el sector automóvil (5,8%). El saldo de la balanza comercial, sin embargo, sigue siendo muy favorable a Guinea Ecuatorial, debido al importante valor de las importaciones energéticas.

Asimismo, Guinea Ecuatorial se está convirtiendo en un incipiente destino de inversión española. Más de 50 empresas de capital mixto ecuatoguineano y español están implantadas y desarrollan su actividad en Guinea Ecuatorial, con un 50% de aumento sólo en los últimos dos años.

El secretario de Estado reivindicó el importante papel que nuestras empresas están jugando en el mundo en múltiples sectores, muchos de los cuales coincide con los prioritarios para el gobierno ecuatoguineano. En este sentido, Bonet pidió a las autoridades y empresarios de Guinea Ecuatorial una oportunidad para que estas empresas puedan demostrar sus capacidades y competencias.
