Logística

Galicia inicia el proceso para establecer una ruta comercial con Miami

Fernando Guldrís, director del Igape, ha mantenido un encuentro con representantes de Oporto de Miami y del Clúster Logístico de Galicia en el que quieren iniciar las bases epara configurar una ruta comercial directa entre Miami y Galicia

El director del Igape ha puesto en valor el potencial logístico de ambas dos regiones al tiempo que se avanzó en un documento marco para el establecimiento de una ruta directa de mercancías entre Galicia y Miami.

Este objetivo, recordó Guldrís, se estableció ya hace unos meses en el viaje oficial que hizo a finales del año pasado el vicepresidente primero y conselleiro de Economía, Industria e Innovación, Francisco Conde, a la región, durante el que fue recibido por el director de operaciones de Oporto de Miami, Andrew C. Hecker.

El director del Igape recordó que el Puerto de Miami ya tiene “una relación importante” con las autoridades portuarias de Vigo, A Coruña y Ferrol, e incidió tanto en el potencial gallego en lo tocante a la logística de frío y la sostenibilidad de los puertos de la Comunidad como en la importancia de Florida como hub logístico. La región se configura como el tercer clúster logístico y de distribución más importante del país, enlace entre Latinoamérica y el Caribe al ser el mayor exportador hacia estos mercados.

El proyecto de Sentury en la comarca de Ferrol se aborda como una infraestructura vital para dinamizar la economía local. Es uno de los cuatro proyectos industriales estratégicos declarados por el Gobierno gallego y permitirá la implantación de una planta de neumáticos en el ayuntamiento de As Pontes. En este marco, Guldrís destacó que uno de los motivos para establecer estas líneas de mercancías entre Galicia y EE.UU radica, precisamente, en que la mayor parte de esa producción de neumáticos que Sentury prevé fabricar en la futura planta serán para exportar al mercado estadounidense vía Miami.
