La Cámara de Madrid mostrará las ventajas competitivas de Qatar y Kuwait en una misión virtual

La Cámara de Comercio de Madrid mantiene su labor de acompañamiento a las empresas y sus servicios de impulso en materia de comercio exterior. Conscientes de la necesidad de fomentar la actividad de las compañías madrileñas, la institución ha adaptado también sus misiones empresariales previstas para los meses de marzo y abril al ámbito digital. Es el caso de la misión empresarial virtual Qatar y Kuwait 2020, a través de la cual la entidad cameral facilita el contacto mediante las nuevas tecnologías de las empresas madrileñas con estos países y mantiene así las reuniones de trabajo.

El objetivo de estos encuentros es promover la cooperación entre empresas españoles y locales en los sectores de infraestructuras, ingeniería, construcción, servicios, petróleo y gas, defensa, energía, agua, tratamiento de residuos, industrial, alimentación, sanidad o sector IT. Es una oportunidad única para conocer de cerca las ventajas competitivas del negocio internacional.

En el caso de Qatar, su economía se ha consolidado como una de las más pujantes y dinámicas de la región del Golfo, fruto de sus recursos naturales en petróleo (51% del PIB). Los planes de inversión en el país se enmarcan en el “Qatar National Vision 2030”, que se divide en cuatro pilares centrales: desarrollo económico, social, humano y ambiental.

También destaca por su preparación para la celebración del Mundial de Fútbol en 2022. Con estos proyectos no es de extrañar que el Gobierno qatarí se haya propuesto convertir este destino en un centro financiero y económico regional.

En cuanto a las relaciones con nuestro país, cabe resaltar que, en los nueve primeros meses de 2019, el comercio bilateral entre España y Qatar creció un 15%, hasta los 1.060M€. Es miembro del Consejo de Cooperación del Golfo, por lo que cuenta con un arancel único del 5% para la inmensa mayoría de productos.

Kuwait, otro destino de oportunidades

Por su parte, Kuwait también aparece como un destino de grandes oportunidades. Se trata de uno de los países con niveles de crecimiento y riqueza más altos de Oriente Medio. Y está considerado el segundo mayor productor de petróleo del CCG, sólo por detrás de Arabia Saudí.

Por si fuera poco, ocupa el primer puesto en cuanto a peso del crudo en sus exportaciones, alrededor del 90%.

Entre sus proyectos de futuro, el Plan Nacional de Desarrollo «Kuwait Vision 2035», dotado con 100.000 millones USD, tiene como objetivo transformar el país en centro financiero y comercial y diversificar su economía fuera del tradicional sector petrolífero. Este programa pondrá mayor énfasis en las asociaciones público-privadas para financiar estos planes y afectará a sectores tan importantes como vivienda, tecnología, infraestructuras, entre otros.
