Sacyr entra en el sector minero peruano

El consorcio, en el que participan Sacyr Industrial y Sacyr Ingeniería e Infraestructuras, obtuvo esta adjudicación en dos licitaciones convocadas por Anglo American.

Sacyr ha entrado en el sector minero peruano con un contrato de construcción industrial. En consorcio con Ajani, se encargará de la construcción, montaje y puesta en marcha del edificio e instalaciones del triturador primario, correa transportadora y edificio e instalaciones del taller de camiones de la mina Quellaveco, situada en el Departamento de Moquegua, al sur del país. Las actividades empezarán a ejecutarse en el mes de agosto de 2019 y tendrán una duración de 2 años aproximadamente.

El consorcio, en el que participan Sacyr Industrial y Sacyr Ingeniería e Infraestructuras, obtuvo esta adjudicación en dos licitaciones convocadas por Anglo American.

“Estos importantes proyectos nos permitirán mostrar al mercado peruano nuestra amplia experiencia internacional brindando soluciones de negocio para el ámbito minero, poniendo en valor lo hecho por el Grupo en numerosos países en los que ha participado en importantes contratos minero-energéticos”, destacó Carlos Martínez-Almeida, responsable de Sacyr en Perú.

Los trabajos del primer paquete consistirán en la construcción de un chancador primario, tanques y área de almacenamiento y descarga de diésel para vehículos livianos y camiones mineros. Además, incluye salas eléctricas y salas de control y el transporte de mineral grueso a través de fajas transportadoras, así como servicios mineros de agua. Mientras que el segundo paquete, corresponde a un taller de camiones y edificios administrativos de la mina.

Quellaveco es uno de los depósitos de cobre no desarrollados más grandes del mundo y se encuentra en la región de Moquegua en el sur del Perú.Con reservas minerales estimadas en 1.300 millones de toneladas, que contienen aproximadamente 7,5 millones de toneladas de cobre (0.57% TCu).

El proyecto Quellaveco utilizará minería a tajo abierto y procesamiento por flotación para producir concentrado de cobre, así como molibdeno y plata como subproductos.En su tasa de producción inicial de 127.500 toneladas, se espera que Quellaveco produzca un promedio de aproximadamente 300.000 toneladas por año durante sus primeros diez años de operación.

Sacyr cuenta con más de 3.000 personas en planilla en Perú, aportando valor al desarrollo económico del país y a la calidad de vida de sus habitantes a través de sus proyectos.

Entre ellos, destaca la construcción de la Sede Villa María del Triunfo y Sede Callao-Estadio San Marcos de los Juegos Panamericanos y Parapanamericanos Lima 2019; la ampliación de la Refinería La Pampilla de Repsol, la concesión del Tramo II de la Longitudinal de la Sierra y la rehabilitación del Aeropuerto Internacional de Chiclayo.
