El Puerto de Huelva formará parte oficialmente del Corredor Atlántico en 2021, gracias a que el enclave ha comenzado a colaborar con el grupo de trabajo de puertos y terminales multimodales

El Puerto de Huelva formará parte oficialmente del Corredor Atlántico en 2021, gracias a que el enclave ha comenzado a colaborar con el grupo de trabajo de puertos y terminales multimodales, el cual ha organizado varias jornadas en Lisboa y Oporto (Portugal).

Estos eventos han contado con la participación del coordinador del Corredor Atlántico, Carlo Secchi, la presidenta del puerto de Lisboa, Lidia Sequeira, así como con representantes de los Puertos de Sines, Leixoes y Puertos del Estado, entre otros. Estas jornadas han servido para darle la bienvenida a los puertos de Huelva, Tenerife, Las Palmas, La Coruña, Gijón y Nantes, los cuales entrarán en el Corredor Atlántico a partir de 2021, fecha que coincide con el nuevo período de programación de la financiación europea 2021-2027.

El enclave ya se había añadido a la infraestructura que se integra en la Red Transeuropea de Transporte en 2018, tras la asignación de fondos CEF por parte de la Comisión Europea, por lo que la Autoridad Portuaria se unirá con el corredor por medio de la línea con Sevilla, lo cual mejorará la conectividad entre la península ibérica y las Islas Canarias.

Gracias a la modificación, se podrán establecer nuevas estrategias de desarrollo, optimización y ampliación de las operaciones y modelos de negocio. Es más, la conexión reforzará las cadenas logísticas globales. Por otro lado, el Puerto de Huelva ha autorizado la inversión de 113 millones de euros hasta 2022, la cual forma parte del Plan de Empresa del enclave.
