COFIDES respalda a Russula para potenciar su inversión en I+D

COFIDES contribuirá al desarrollo tecnológico de Russula Corporación S.A.U. en su división de EE UU.

COFIDES contribuirá al desarrollo tecnológico de Russula Corporación S.A.U. en su división de EE UU. Con cargo al FIEX, proporcionará 1,5 millones de euros mediante un préstamo de coinversión. La inversión total del proyecto asciende a 2,15 millones de euros.

Russula es una empresa dedicada al diseño, implementación y presentación de soluciones de ingeniería y automatización tanto para la industria del acero como para plantas de tratamiento de aguas en el sector siderúrgico. Está presente en EE.UU. (Ohio) desde el año 2002 mediante su filial Russula Corporación.

A través de este proyecto, la empresa llevará a cabo un proyecto de I+D dirigido a reducir al máximo el vertido líquido generado por las plantas de aguas mediante el desarrollo de soluciones que reduzcan los requerimientos de aporte de los afluentes. Esta tecnología permitirá incorporar mejoras que supondrán un menor impacto medioambiental y la reducción de costes para sus clientes.

Este es el segundo proyecto en el que colaboran COFIDES y Russula, ya que en 2014 COFIDES, a través del FONPYME, financió parcialmente la creación de una división dentro de su filial en EEUU enfocada a la investigación y desarrollo de los nuevos prototipos mecánicos.

El presidente de COFIDES, José Luis Curbelo, ha recordado que las inversiones que promueve COFIDES aspiran a contribuir a un crecimiento económico inclusivo, el progreso social y la protección ambiental. Por otro lado, ha agregado que las empresas que invierten en I+D ofrecen productos de calidad y son más competitivas en el exterior, lo que favorece su crecimiento y su consolidación internacional.

Russula, empresa con sede en A Coruña, fue fundada en 1988 por un equipo de ingenieros con amplios conocimientos en el proceso de producción de acero. Es la cabecera de un grupo formado por once sociedades con filiales propias en España, India, Rusia, Italia, EEUU, México, Brasil, Argentina. Russula es una compañía de ingeniería que trabaja globalmente con los principales productores de acero en más de 30 países. Desarrollan soluciones de ingeniería que permiten a sus clientes mejorar la eficiencia y la productividad de sus procesos.
