Bruselas invertirá 12.700 millones para más de 200 proyectos de infraestructuras de transporte

Según ha informado la Comisión Europea, los proyectos incluyen todos las modalidades de transporte, lo que “asegura una dimensión realmente europea” de los mismos.

La Agencia Ejecutiva de Innovación y Redes (INEA) ha firmado los acuerdos finales para apoyar a un total de 263 proyectos de infraestructuras de transporte europeos a través de ayudas por valor de 12.700 millones de euros, con el objetivo de conseguir una movilidad “más rápida, más segura y más verde” en la UE, en el marco del programa ‘Connecting Europe Facility’ (CEF). Según ha informado la Comisión Europea, los proyectos incluyen todos las modalidades de transporte, lo que “asegura una dimensión realmente europea” de los mismos.

En concreto, los proyectos están localizados en su mayoría en la principal red transeuropea de transporte, mientras que 43 de ellos tienen lugar en países que forman parte del Fondo de Cohesión. La comisaria de Transporte, Violeta Bulc, se ha mostrado satisfecha con que “la mayor inversión de la UE en el área de transporte se haga realidad” y ha subrayado que los proyectos “conectarán mejor Europa” e “incrementarán la competitividad, el crecimiento y el empleo”. “Al contribuir a la descarbonización del sector del transporte mediante combustibles verdes y la integración digital, (los proyectos) también avanzarán en dos prioridades de la Comisión: la unión energética y la agenda digital”, ha añadido. Desde su lanzamiento en septiembre de 2015, el programa CEF ha recibido casi 700 propuestas que suponían un total de 32.600 millones de euros, tres veces más que la cantidad de financiación disponible.
