Gamesa entra en solar en India con un primer pedido de 10 MW

En línea con el Plan de Negocio 2015-2017, que incluye el análisis de actividades complementarias con el negocio eólico. Gamesa ha alcanzado un acuerdo para el desarrollo de 10 MW solares en India.

Este proyecto, que entrará en operación en septiembre, representa la primera incursión de Gamesa en el sector solar fotovoltaico. El Plan de Negocio 2015-2017 de Gamesa, presentado recientemente, contempla el análisis de actividades complementarias al negocio tradicional, como el solar y el offgrid, con el objetivo de explorar estos mercados sinérgicos con el eólico y que pueden añadir valor a la compañía a partir de 2018. En este sentido, Gamesa se encargará del desarrollo llave en mano (EPC) de cuatro plantas solares, situados en el estado de Tamil Nadu, al sureste del país, para tres importantes empresas de la industria textil en la zona -Best Corporation, Shiny Knitwear y Santhosh Garments-, algunas de las cuales ya son clientes de Gamesa en el sector eólico. Los inversores fotovoltaicos para estos proyectos -siete Gamesa E-1,37 MW y dos Gamesa E-1,1 MW- serán suministrados por la fábrica de Gamesa Electric en Coslada (Madrid). «Este primer contrato en solar se enmarca dentro de la voluntad desarrollada en nuestras perspectivas 2015-2017 para explorar oportunidades en negocios complementarios con la industria eólica. El negocio solar en India tiene un potencial de 750 GW y el objetivo del Gobierno es alcanzar 100 GW en 2022 frente a los 3.8 GW actuales.

Gamesa quiere acompañar a sus clientes en el desarrollo de la energía solar en el país, apalancada en nuestro conocimiento del desarrollo y gestión de proyectos renovables y en nuestra competitiva cadena de suministro implantada ya en el país ha explicado Ramesh Kymal, CEO de Gamesa en India. Gamesa, presente en India como tecnólogo y promotor de parques eólicos desde 2009, cuenta con un sólido posicionamiento en el país, donde finalizó 2014 como número uno por segundo año consecutivo con una cuota de mercado del 32%, según la consultora BTM. Hasta la fecha, ha instalado cerca de 1.900 MW y gestiona los servicios de operación y mantenimiento para más de 1.850 MW. Además, como promotor de parques, la compañía ha desarrollado más de 1.300 MW.
