Banco Sabadell adquiere JGB Bank de Miami

Tras la compra de JGB Bank, Sabadell United Bank se posicionará como entidad bancaria doméstica de referencia en Florida y quinto banco más grande del estado en términos de activos.

Paralelamente, Banco Sabadell ha finalizado la adquisición del activo y pasivo de las operaciones de banca privada de Lloyds Bank en Miami, anunciada el pasado mes de mayo. Esta operación incluye aproximadamente 900 millones de dólares en activos gestionados y alrededor de 40 millones en préstamos. Asimismo, veinticinco empleados de la banca privada de Lloyds Bank se han incorporado a la oficina internacional de Banco Sabadell en Miami, a través de la que se prestan servicios bancarios a las personas y empresas que operan en Estados Unidos y Latinoamérica. JGB Bank, entidad creada en 1957, es hoy el segundo banco más antiguo del sur de Florida. Actualmente, gestiona 530 millones de dólares en activos, emplea a 71 personas y tiene ocho establecimientos financieros en los centros urbanos de Aventura, Miami, Miami Beach, Doral, Coral Gables, Surfside y Medley.

El importe de la operación es de aproximadamente 56 millones de dólares, lo que supone 1,12 veces el valor contable de la entidad. Se espera que la operación quede totalmente cerrada durante la primera mitad de 2014, una vez se haya obtenido la oportuna autorización de las autoridades reguladoras. GNB Holdings Trust tiene como partícipe principal a D. Jaime Gilinski Bacal, también accionista significativo de Banco Sabadell. Adquisición del grupo de banca privada de Lloyds Bank en MiamiBanco Sabadell ha llegado a un acuerdo con GNB Holdings Trust, para adquirir la entidad bancaria JGB Bank de Miami e incorporarla a su grupo, a través de la integración en el perímetro de su filial en Miami, Sabadell United Bank. La operación se estructura mediante la adquisición a GNB Holdings Trust de la sociedad JGB Financial Holding Company, titular a su vez de la entidad bancaria JGB Bank.
