El juguete español se consolida en el exterior

El sector juguetero español ha hecho de la internacionalización su principal objetivo, y se está consolidando año a año en los mercados exteriores.Una tarea complicada en la que cada vez se encuentra con mayor competencia, ya que si tradicionalmente Italia y Alemania eran los grandes competidores de la industria juguetera española, en los últimos cinco años, China ha irrumpido con fuerza en el negocio de la juguetería

A juicio de la Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Juguetes (AEFJ),lo que diferencia al producto español, es la especialización en un producto de alto diseño, calidad y valores pedagógicos a precios muy competitivos. Un total de 219 empresas integran el censo de fabricantes españoles, el 61% de las cuales mantienen una actividad exportadora habitual. Otra característica de nuestro sector juguetero es que está conformado casi exclusivamente por pymes, muchas de ellas microempresas, que generan el 80% de los 5.000 puestos de trabajo de esta industria.

A falta de los últimos datos, las ventas españolas de juguetes al exterior sumaron de enero a noviembre del pasado año 342 millones de euros, siendo los principales clientes internacionales Francia (78,92 millones de euros), Portugal (71,48 millones) e Italia (40,90 millones). Fuera de la Unión Europea, destacan las ventas a México (12,56 millones) y Rusia (7,47 millones).

Además de su calidad y competitividad, buena parte del mérito del posicionamiento del juguete español en el mercado mundial recae sobre la propia AEFJ y el Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior (ICEX), que han puesto en marcha un plan sectorial de promoción exterior que da a conocer la oferta nacional bajo la marca paraguas Toys from Spain. Entre otras acciones, esta iniciativa tiene por objeto garantizar la presencia de las empresas españolas del sector en las principales ferias internacionales y desarrollar una campaña de prestigio en los mercados prioritarios.
