La intermodalidad y el transporte ferroviario, los dos grandes retos de la logística aragonesa

El pasado viernes el Consejo Aragonés de Cámaras de Comercio e Industria, Caja Inmaculada y la Confederación de Empresarios de Aragón, presentaron el estudio “La logística en Aragón”, que pone de relieve la importancia del sistema ferroviario y de la intermodalidad para la logística aragonesa.

Este informe deja patente que Aragón cuenta con un potente desarrollo logístico y analiza al detalle las infraestructuras de transporte y el sector relacionado con la actividad, así como las tendencias tecnológicas en la cadena de suministro y la intermodalidad.

El estudio ha contado con la colaboración técnica del Zaragoza Logistics Center y concluye cómo Aragón aprovecha su posición en el tercio norte de la Península Ibérica y su proximidad a Francia para desarrollar una fuerte apuesta por la logística y el transporte. Este reto apunta a convertirse en un núcleo potencial y competitivo no sólo a nivel nacional, sino europeo.

Las empresas de transporte y comunicaciones en Aragón generan el 5% de la producción y el 9% del sector servicios. Pese a que existe una fuerte presencia de microempresas y autoempleo en la actividad, Aragón se caracteriza por sus grandes compañías de transporte carretera. Cinco de las diecisiete primeras en España son de Aragón.

El estudio que presenta las amenazas, las oportunidades del sector logístico, la concentración de la actividad económica en torno a los centros urbanos y el gran potencial tecnológica, así como su localización estratégica, destaca la carencia de intermodalidad y conexiones se convierten en dos de las principales trabas para el impulso logístico definitivo de la zona.

Como conclusión, el estudio recomienda invertir en la finalización de las infraestructuras en ejecución y consolidar las áreas logísticas que ya existen, al tiempo que apunta la importancia de introducir la logística en la cultura empresarial de las pymes, mediante la transferencia de tecnología y la formación, ya que es un factor diferencial de competitividad para el comercio exterior.

El desarrollo del sector ferroviario es también esencial, no sólo en construcción de infraestructuras sino también como sector industrial en su conjunto, y debe potenciarse a través de mayor conocimiento teórico y formación, atracción de empresas del sector, realización de ferias, etc. El ferrocarril es esencial para la intermodalidad en Aragón.
