Air France operará un nuevo vuelo a Wuhan desde abril de 2012

A partir del próximo 11 de abril de 2012, AIR FRANCE comenzará a operar vuelos regulares entre París-Charles de Gaulle y el Aeropuerto Internacional de Wuhan Tianhe en China. AIR FRANCE es la primera compañía que ofrece vuelos directos entre Wuhan y Europa.

Bruno Matheu, Director General de Marketing, Revenue Management y Network para AIR FRANCE KLM comentó que “Este quinto destino en el continente chino refuerza la posición de AIR FRANCE en este mercado de rápido crecimiento. Desde Europa, el Grupo AIR FRANCE KLM tiene la mayor oferta de destinos a la zona de Gran China (China, Hong Kong y Taiwán). El crecimiento de AIR FRANCE KLM en China, constituye una de las ventajas estratégicas del Grupo. Esto hace que nuestra red global y oferta de servicios sea aún más atractiva y contribuya a reforzar las relaciones Francia-China”

Situado en China central y a igual distancia de Beijing, Shanghái y Guangzhou, Wuhan es un importante nudo de comunicación para el transporte tanto por aire, ferrocarril como por ferry. Wuhan, la capital de Hubei, cuenta con una población de 9 millones de habitantes y es una ciudad financiera industrial (especialmente para la industria del automóvil) y científica donde están implantadas numerosas empresas internacionales. Con instituciones científicas, tecnológicas y de enseñanza como el Laser City y la Universidad de Wuhan la ciudad es también un centro intelectual.

El nuevo vuelo operará tres veces a la semana. Los vuelos operarán con aviones Boeing 777-200ER, con capacidad para 309 pasajeros: 35 en “Affaires”, 24 en Premium Voyageur y 250 en Voyageur (turista).

Durante la temporada de invierno de 2011, el grupo AIR FRANCE KLM opera 80 vuelos semanales a ocho destinos en Gran China (Beijing, Shanghái, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Xiamen y Taipei). Esto hace que el Grupo sea la compañía aérea que más pasajeros transporta entre Europa y China. AIR FRANCE KLM también opera 31 vuelos semanales bajo acuerdos de código compartido con China Eastern y China Southern.
