La Comunidad Valenciana viaja a Bruselas para defender el Corredor Mediterráneo

La sociedad civil de todo el Mediterráneo sigue quemando los últimos cartuchos para que la Unión Europea decida incluir el Corredor Mediterráneo en la Red Transeuropea y, por tanto, recibir financiación. Ayer, Ferrmed realizó una presentación en Bruselas de esta infraestructura, un acto que contaba con la presencia de presidentes autonómicos, mandatarios de entidades empresariales, centros logísticos y Autoridades Portuarias.

La delegación de la Comunidad Valenciana estuvo encabezada por el presidente de la Generalitat Valenciana, Alberto Fabra, apoyado por el Consejo de Cámaras de la Comunidad Valenciana, las tres Autoridades Portuarias de interés general (Valencia, Castellón y Alicante), así como la vicepresidenta primera, Paula Sánchez de León, y la consellera de Infraestructuras, Isabel Bonig.

Antes de la presentación de Ferrmed, el presidente de la Generalitat Valenciana mantuvo diversos encuentros con mandatarios de la Comisión Europea, en los que dejo patente la importancia del Corredor para el Mediterráneo y para toda Europa.

Alberto Fabra declaró que “hemos venido a Bruselas a demostrar que el Corredor Mediterráneo es la mejor opción para España y para Europa”. Así, “ponemos en valor una infraestructura que puede aportar mucho a nuestros territorios, pero también a Europa”.

El vicepresidente de Comisión Europea y comisario de Industria y Emprendimiento, Antonio Tajani, puso en valor la defensa del Consell y de toda la sociedad valenciana para que el Corredor sea incluido como eje prioritario en las redes transeuropeas y destacó la “importancia” de este proyecto. Recordado que siempre ha estado a favor del Corredor Mediterráneo tanto en su etapa como comisario de Transportes de la UE como en la actual andadura y, al respecto, repasó todos los esfuerzos que se están haciendo para incluirlo como eje prioritario de cara a la decisión que debe adoptar la UE el próximo mes de octubre. “Creo que hay buenas nuevas a favor”, adelantaba, porque es “una propuesta inteligente” y “hay posibilidades, es un acuerdo en el que se está trabajando”

Tajani subrayó la necesidad de una “cooperación más fuerte” entre la Comunitat y la Unión Europea en temas como el sector industrial, empresarial y turístico, al tiempo que defendió la importancia de las infraestructuras productivas entre las que destacó los datos del puerto de Valencia. Por ello, anunció su próxima visita a Valencia el viernes 30 de septiembre porque “si trabajamos juntos en torno a la economía real y en favor de la economía real” enfocada a la industria, las pymes y el turismo, es más fácil hacer frente a la actual coyuntura.
