CaixaBank se mantiene en el DJSI

CaixaBank, anteriormente Criteria CaixaCorp, se mantiene en el Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), dentro del sector servicios financieros, renovando así su presencia en el principal indicador mundial de empresas que aplican buenas prácticas de responsabilidad corporativa, y que valora tanto la dimensión económica como la ambiental y social.

Los resultados de este índice se hicieron efectivos y aparecieron ayer lunes, oficialmente, los nombres de las 342 empresas clasificadas en 57 sectores, agrupados en 19 subsectores.

DJSI y la inversión socialmente responsable

El DJSI se creó en 1999 con el objetivo de incluir a las empresas más rentables en sus sectores de actividad que, además, incluyen en su gestión criterios de sostenibilidad. Las compañías seleccionadas para este índice se comprometen a un crecimiento sostenible y a crear valor para el accionista, a medio y largo plazo, según estrictos criterios económicos, sociales y medioambientales. DJSI se ha convertido en uno de los estándares de lo que se ha venido a denominar inversión socialmente responsable, que trabaja bajo la hipótesis de que aquellas compañías que tienen en cuenta en su estrategia prácticas de gobierno y gestión, requerimientos más exigentes de tipo social, ambiental o de integridad, obtendrán mejores resultados en el medio y largo plazo.

Actualmente, este índice es el referente mundial de la inversión socialmente responsable y supone un indicador para los gestores de valores e inversores institucionales que consideran, entre sus elementos relevantes para gestionar sus carteras, los criterios de sostenibilidad como un indicador de la calidad de la gestión.
