Zaragoza fue ayer sede del V Foro Intelitur de Innovación y Turismo

Zaragoza fue la ciudad elegida por las Cámaras de Comercio y Turespaña para acoger ayer por la mañana la V edición del Foro Intelitur de Innovación y Turismo, al que asistieron más de 150 empresas aragonesas del sector y responsables de turismo de la comunidad autónoma. El presidente de la Cámara de Comercio e Industria de Zaragoza, Manuel Teruel, fue el encargado de inaugurar la cita junto a la secretaria general del Consejo Superior de Cámaras, Carmen de Miguel; el director del Instituto de Estudios Turísticos de Turespaña; Vicente Monfort; y el viceconsejero de Turismo del Gobierno de Aragón, Javier Callizo.

Manuel Teruel recordó que innovación y excelencia “ya no son términos exclusivos del sector industrial; también forman parte de la gestión diaria del turismo de Zaragoza”. El presidente de la Cámara señaló que este sector tiene un extraordinario impacto económico, desde los taxistas, los bares o las tiendas a los organizadores de congresos, los guías, los museos, y, por supuesto, los hoteles y los restaurantes. “La experiencia de la Expo 2008 -dijo- nos ha permitido incrementar nuestra capacidad hotelera y la calidad de los servicios turísticos, porque los visitantes no entienden de plazas hoteleras o ratios de ocupación: los turistas disfrutan de experiencias, en las que todo el entorno aporta su grano de arena para lograr su satisfacción”.

Por su parte, la secretaria del Consejo Superior de Cámaras, Carmen de Miguel, puso de relieve que con Intelitur, el Centro de Conocimiento, Inteligencia e Innovación Turística, las cámaras hacen una apuesta decidida para contribuir a que el sector turístico español siga siendo líder, se adapte a las nuevas condiciones del mercado y pueda mantener una oferta de calidad, variada y atractiva. “Las condiciones que rodean la actividad turística -explicó de Miguel- han cambiado radicalmente en los últimos ocho años. En el momento actual de crisis, las cámaras quieren hacer un esfuerzo especial en el turismo, una actividad que supone más del 10% del PIB español, porque la razón de ser de nuestras instituciones es ayudar a crear las condiciones idóneas para que la actividad económica y empresarial se desarrolle lo mejor posible”.
