Barcelona se convierte hasta el viernes en la capital mundial de la logística

Arranca la XII edición del SIL, el Salón Internacional de la Logística y la Manutención, que cuenta con la participación de 615 empresas participantes y en el que tendrán lugar un total de 20 jornadas técnicas.

La XII edición del Salón Internacional de la Logística y de la Manutención (SIL 2010) abrió ayer sus puertas en Barcelona con la participación de 615 empresas, el 45 % de las cuales son extranjeras. El SIL, que se celebra hasta el próximo viernes en el pabellón 2 del recinto Gran Vía, convertirá durante esta semana a Barcelona en la capital mundial de la logística y contará con la presencia de personalidades de primer nivel mundial. La presente edición del SIL cuenta con Francia como país invitado y con el Principado de Asturias como comunidad autónoma invitada.

Precisamente, ayer el presidente del Principado de Asturias, Vicente Álvarez, recibió la medalla del SIL de manos de Enrique Lacalle, presidente del Comité Organizador. Un acto entrañable en el que también estuvo presente, entre otros, el consejero de Medio Ambiente, Ordenación del Territorio e Infraestructuras del Principado de Asturias, Francisco González. El Principado de Asturias, que se ha convertido en la primera comunidad autónoma invitada de la historia del SIL, presentará a lo largo de los 4 días que dura el salón todo su potencial logístico y las oportunidades de negocio e inversión que ofrece.

Durante la inauguración oficial del Salón, que tuvo lugar ayer tarde con la asistencia del presidente de la Generalitat de Cataluña, José Montilla, se hizo entrega de la VI edición de los Premios SIL de Logística, que este año ha tenido los siguientes galardonados: José Mestre, director general de TERCAT, S.A., como Mejor Empresario Nacional; KNAPP AG, como Mejor Empresa Internacional; el Principado de Asturias y Plaza S.A., como Mejor Proyecto Logístico Nacional; la Autorità Portuale Di Napoli, como autora del Mejor Proyecto Logístico Internacional; ATOX Sistemas de Almacenaje, como destinataria del Premio Espacial SIL; Grupo Tecnipublicaciones y Grupo Diario, como los merecedores del Premio de Periodismo; y Juan Ramón Rodríguez, director de Fábrica y Logística Operativa de SEAT, como Mejor Director de Logística.

Asimismo, en el marco de esta XII edición del SIL, se inauguró también el VII Fórum Mediterráneo de Logística y Transporte, que este año tiene como país invitado al Líbano. Este prestigioso foro de debate fue inaugurado por Enrique Lacalle, presidente del Comité Organizador del SIL 2010; Miquel Valls, presidente de la Cámara de Comercio de Barcelona; y Rajeh Sarea, vice-Ministro de Transportes de Siria.

En este acto inaugural, Lacalle afirmó que, después de 12 ediciones del SIL, «quiero destacar especialmente ésta porque, en un momento de complicaciones económicas como el actual, hemos conseguido hacer un Salón de logística total”.
