El turismo extranjero deja 2.433 millones en lo que va de año, sólo un 2,19% menos que en 2009

Aunque España acumula ya 17 meses de descensos consecutivos en sus indicadores, durante el último trimestre se ha venido observando una velocidad menos acusada en la caída. En diciembre, por ejemplo, el retroceso fue sólo del 3%. En ese sentido, cabe recordar que, en el conjunto de 2009, los ingresos por turismo extranjero en España habían caído hasta un alarmante 9%.

Los ingresos por turismo extranjero en España sumaron un total de 2.433 millones de euros durante el pasado mes de enero. Un hecho que supone que este indicador sólo haya caído un 2,19% respecto al mismo mes del año anterior, según refleja la balanza de pagos que ha difundido el Banco de España. Aunque este indicador acumula ya 17 meses de descensos consecutivos, durante el último trimestre se ha venido observando una velocidad menos intensa en la caída (en diciembre, el retroceso fue del 3%). Cabe recordar que, en el conjunto de 2009, los ingresos por turismo extranjero en España cayeron un 9%.

En cualquier caso, hay que tener en cuenta que los datos de enero, a pesar de que muestran una relativa mejora respecto al conjunto de 2009, se están comparando con enero de 2009, cuando los ingresos por turismo extranjero ya habían caído un 13% como consecuencia de la crisis económica global. En ese sentido, si comparamos enero de 2010 con enero de 2008, el retroceso sería del 12,2%. Un dato que indica que todavía los números deben mejorar de forma considerable.

Por lo que respecta a los pagos que realizan los viajeros españoles en el extranjero, en enero, dicho importe alcanzó los 817 millones de euros, un 4,6% menos en tasa interanual. En el conjunto de 2009, este indicador cayó un 14%. De nuevo hay que tener en cuenta que, ya en enero de 2009, los pagos de los viajeros españoles en el extranjero habían caído un 15% en tasa interanual. Si comparamos enero de 2010 con enero de 2008, el retroceso de los pagos de los turistas españoles en el extranjero es del 28%.
